Boris Chauviré

Dr Boris Chauvire has contributed much research regarding opal in particular his specialties have bee discussing opal in Ethiopia. Boris’s Phd Thesis provides relevant in formation regarding the current space programs to determine if there is opal on Mars as a part of ongoing space investigation.

More recently Boris visited Australia as a guest of the Gemmological Association of Australia to discuss and lecture his views regarding opal formation, more specifically on his experience and geological field work in Ethiopia.

During Boris’ visit to australia he travelled through many important Australian opal fields, Coober Pedy, Lightning Ridge, and the boulder fields near Quilpie in Queensland .
